ADR Training, and moving dangerous goods by road, is subject to international regulations and is strictly policed. Most European countries sign up to the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR). Furthermore, each nation that complies with ADR implements specific safety measures through its own national statutory legislation.
The purpose of ADR, and likewise ADR Training, is to ensure that dangerous goods (including clinical and other dangerous waste) being carried by road can cross international borders freely so as long as operators, with their vehicles and drivers, comply with its provisions. ADR has been in force since 1968 and is administered by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). Due to technological advances and changes of legislation, it’s updated every 2 years.
Our ADR course provides the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to safely carry Hazardous and Dangerous Goods in accordance with the law and be up to date with industry regulations and best practice. The training will certify the operator (driver) in the relevant classes, things do change, and so renewing it every 5 years and being up to date is key.
ADR training is available at all of our sites or on your site using your facilities. Courses are available six days a week (Monday to Saturday) at our Southampton, Hampshire driver training centres all throughout the year. Ask for our latest course availability by phone or email because we may have other courses running or planned not advertised.
Our instructors regularly undergo continuous development and vetting. So, you can be confident of their professionalism and competency. Our instructors draw on over 25 years’ industry experience in jobs ranging from Transport Management, HM Armed Forces and Government Enforcement Agencies (VOSA, Police) etc.
ADR (Dangerous Goods) training should be informative with a balance of theory and practical. The content should be up to date with industry and delivered by a professional instructor. So it should always involve imparting knowledge and best practice, with your contributions and experiences.
Your ADR training course with Trailer Training UK has current approval by the governing body, SQA. It is also approved and registered with JAUPT, so you will be eligible to apply for additional free Periodic Driver CPC. Although we welcome it, we are a centre that rarely gets a visit, and enjoy successful auditing by SQA and JAUPT.
As a result of passing the SQA exams at the end of the course, they will notify the DVSA. They will then issue a Dangerous Goods Certificate (ADR Card) for 5 years.
